I think this may be the longest I've ever gone without updating my blog. I wouldn't even call this an update- just kind of a fly by post. I've got at least a week until life settles down. Just wanted to say hi!

Good Times!

Last night we had a big meeting for our New Moon Event. Since Vicki & Summer came all the way from New Mexico for the meeting we had to go to dinner afterwards. We went to JCW for burgers and shakes.

The burger was really yummy.... and really messy! Christy caught me with sauce all over my face. (I can't believe I'm posting this picture)

Their fries were good too- just ask Kim....

Christy's little one was the only boy invited to this party-

He got lots of attention-

I posted these pictures mainly to prove that I did let someone else hold him :)

After dinner Rae and I went over to Meg's to visit and to snuggle with T.

Mazza!

Miranda was in town from Idaho last weekend so we got together for dinner. We went to Mazza which is an incredible Mediterranean cafe. It was so yummy!!!!

After dinner we wandered over to King's English bookstore and things got a little silly (shocking, isn't it?)

I would choose to go to the moon. I’ve lived in Europe already and as much as I love it I think if I had to choose between the two space travel would win out.

Tragedy

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the victims of todays shooting in Ft. Hood.

Whatcha Reading?

I just realized I haven't mentioned what I've been reading recently. I don't get to read as much as I would like during the semester but I have managed to sneak a few good reads in.
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
LOVED this book! Great characters (Patch *swoon*) and a very intriguing plot. My only complaint was that the ending felt a little rushed. It's the first in a series. The second book comes out next Fall. I'm not sure how many books will be in the series.

Fire by Kristin Cashore

Fire is a companion book to Graceling. It has one overlapping character and it takes place about 30 years before Graceling. I was so excited to get this book into my hot little hands. Graceling is one of my favorite books so I had really high expectations for Fire. I think maybe my sights were set a little too high. I really enjoyed the book and definitely recommend it but it didn't sweep me away like Graceling did. It is a great story, strong characters and has an important message so it was worth the read.

Forest Born by Shannon Hale

Forest Born is the fourth book in the Bayern Series by Shannon Hale. If you haven't read her books I highly recommend them! She is a great writer! I really enjoyed Forest Born. I loved getting reacquainted with the characters from the other books and meeting new ones. Shannon can do no wrong in my eyes so of course I loved this book.

Next up on my list: Gone by Lisa McMann and Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

We went to the annual Trunk-or-Treat in Mark and Kathy's Church parking lot and then came home for dinner & donuts.

The best costume of the night was Riley's. None of us recognized her when we first saw her. She's the silhouette off the I-Tunes gift cards.

My Hero

Gram would have been 92 today. I can't believe she's been gone for almost 19 years. She left us too soon. Those of us that knew her are better because of it.

I hope I can live my life so that when I meet her again she will tell me she is proud that I'm her granddaughter.
